Beschreibung

The PortServer TS family of terminal servers delivers intelligent, reliable and cost-effective EIA-232/422/485 serial-to-Ethernet connectivity. PortServer TS 8 (eight serial ports) and PortServer TS 16 (16 serial ports) support data center console port management applications, as well as property management, point-of-sale, data aquisition, industrial automation, power utilities, travel reservations and other applications requiring serial-to-IP connectivity.

PortServer TS solutions offer the most robust feature set on the market. Digi’s patented RealPort® technology makes it possible to establish a connection between the host and a networked serial device by creating a local COM or TTY port on the host computer, allowing existing software applications to work without modification. Incoming/outgoing Rlogin and Telnet sessions on each port give equipment and system administrators a high level of control over networked serial devices. Other features include Secure Shell (SSH v2) encryption to protect against unauthorized network monitoring or “sniffing,” and port buffering, which allows network administrators to easily capture vital information for troubleshooting.

A variety of management tools are supplied with the Digi PortServer TS product family, including Digi Port Authority-Remote and the embedded Digi web management console. Functions including IP assignment, diagnostics and guided configuration make the product easy to install and use.
